PreveMitig-Age – Development and evaluation of interventions aimed at the prevention and mitigation of age-related health conditions
The overall population is rapidly aging, and this is expected to cause a dramatic increase in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCD). The “Global strategy and action plan on ageing and health” of WHO provides a policy framework to align health systems to the needs of an aging population, with special emphasis on lifestyle changes and mitigation of the effects of social and environmental stressors. The present project aims to contribute to the topic through the development and evaluation of interventions aimed at the prevention and mitigation of age-related health conditions.
