Scadenza: 30 November 2021
Topic:
The Call intends to support basic research projects focused on the study of genes / gene families, proteins and RNA molecules whose function is unknown1 in the context of rare2 diseases, of genetic3 and non-genetic origin.
Projects eligible for the Call: focus on the following themes
Genetic aspects:
- genes associated with rare diseases whose function is completely or largely unknown
- one genotype, multiple clinical phenotypes
- variants of uncertain or unknown meaning (VUS)
- genetic modifiers.
Molecular mechanisms:
- folding, stability and degradation of proteins
-metabolism
- inflammatory response
- post-transcriptional and post-translational mechanisms affecting gene function and / or expression and which are responsible for different clinical phenotypes for the same disease.
Ente finanziatore:
Fondazione Cariplo e Fondazione Telethon
Budget complessivo:
Max 250.000 €
Who can participate:
Both projects presented by a single organization and partnership projects can participate in the Call. The organizations, leader and partner, must be Italian non-profit, public or private research bodies.
