Intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia conditioning and cardiorespiratory fitness in older comorbid cardiac outpatients

31 July 2020 @ 14:00 - 15:00

Webinar intermittent hypoxia - Agig Project UPO

July 31, 2.00 P.M., webinar “INTERMITTENT HYPOXIA-HYPEROXIA CONDITIONING AND CARDIORESPIRATORY FITNESS IN OLDER COMORBID CARDIAC OUTPATIENTS”.

Increasing evidence is reported, with respect to some specific exercise modalities, in the training of people with reduced exercise tolerance: among them, intermittent exposure to hypoxia has demonstrated its effectiveness in improving the level of fitness in elderly and cardiac patients. Further studies have evaluated the benefit of hypoxic stimulation, similar to that observed in high altitude training, in the treatment of some chronic diseases.

The webinar aims to present the current evidence and perspectives of these exercise modalities, and especially of some protocols of intermittent exposure to hypoxia, normoxia and hyperoxia, evaluating the possible benefits of their application in elderly subjects with comorbidities.

Speaker of the webinar is Davide Susta, Associate Professor in Sports Medicine, School of Health and Human Performance, Dublin City University

The webinar, in English, can be followed for free on the GOOGLE MEET platform at the following link https://meet.google.com/cgvxovq-ths
