I am a curious, adventurous person who likes to take on new challenges. I often identify with others so that I can help anyone in trouble. My greatest passion is traveling: traveling allows me to get to know new cultures and new people, growing as a person.
Academic Year: AA 2019-2020
Curriculum: Phisiopathology of aging
Research Topic
Aging is accompanied by the deregulation of trophic hormones and dysmetabolic conditions that can be implied in the onset of sarcopenia and osteoporosis. Unfortunately, pharmacological treatment with specific hormones has often been useless, suggesting to study the molecular mechanism at the basis of their biological actions in order to find a new strategy to counteract this condition. In addition, age-associated pathology is marked by metabolic abnormalities, impaired antioxidant mechanism and decreased mitochondrial disfunction that can be likely enhanced also by active ingredients from plants used in traditional medicine as invigorating remedies with anti-aging properties, whose direct biological action on muscle and bone need to be investigated.
